Pets on Wheels is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing companionship to patients of nursing homes and hospitals.

A NOTE FROM HEATHER
I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for the time you give to Pets on Wheels. April is volunteer appreciation month and its another reason to let you know that you touch the lives of each person you and your pet visit. I hope that each of you is aware of the positive effects you have on the residents and the patients you visit. I hope you have had an experience that makes you smile each time you think of it. Thank you again for all you do. I hope to see you April 6 at the fundraiser.

The third Wednesday of each month we visit RICA. RICA is a residential placement for troubledyouth. For the month of March, we will visit RICA on Monday the 25 at 7:00pm. Anyone interested in visiting can contact Heather @ 301-396-4580. Periodically POW has special daytime visits; if you are available and interested contact Heather. Our quarterly get together will be held in May, look for a flyer in the mail containing specifics. ANNUAL FUND-RAISER
Saturday, April 6, we will be having our annual fund-raiser. Please note, the location has changed, it will be held at the La Plata Walmart from 9am to 1pm. We ask that each volunteer attend with their pet and bring baked goods individually wrapped to sell for $.50 each. Please collect donations from family, friends, co-workers and businesses up until the fund-raiser. All collections should be given to Heather at the fund-raiser. Checks can be made out to Pets On Wheels. All donations are tax-deductible. Receipts will be available at the fund-raiser.

You are now able to download Volunteer Information Forms and Health Certificate Forms. The web-site also includes the following features: Upcoming Events, Pet Services (pet-sitters, vets, kennels, and groomers), Quarterly Newsletter. Features to come: Volunteer Spotlight, Pet Advice/Training Tips, and Picture Gallery.
